Display at de Lange Haven

Display reflects on the way museums used to exhibit their collections. In the past, the architecture and interior of the art space strongly affected the way one perceived the pieces of art on display.

This was due to the fact that most museums were not orginally museums, but e.g. monasteries, town halls or homes. In these locations, I took pictures.

Exhibition view: Display at De Lange Haven, a home.

Display was invited to ‘Chambres des Schie’: a group show by young photographers, taking place in private homes. Of course this is a perfect setting for the concept. The picture shown here, is a wallpaper print for a living room. Later, the print was aqcuired by the inhabitants.

Site-specific installation in functional spaces.  Photo print on wallpaper.
Exhibition view: Display at the Lange Haven, Chambres des Schie, Fotofestival Schiedam.
